Ruhland Sounds Warning On "Flu"

• With regard to the seriousness of flu situation in Milwaukee, Ruhland : “If the disease continues to spread here at the rate it has spread in other cities we may expect 40 per cent of the city’s population, or 130,000 people, to be infected with about 3,000 cases of mortality.” • Ruhland is asking for $15,000 in appropriations for up to 3 isolation hospitals, which will be decided at a special meeting of the city council on Wednesday.• Ruhland is calling for 10 nurses to serve the isolation hospitals.• Ruhland warns against overuse of medication to self-treat colds, such as aspirin.• 358 new cases and 3 deaths from flu on Monday.
